Honestly, I feel the fact that Apple made this workaround so arduous is sad - they're completely dropping options to legitimate old hardware just to force consumers to buy newer devices. The old version would then download, and it functions as well as it can, considering it's outdated. "Download an older version of this app? The current version requires iOS 10.0 or later, but you can download the last compatible version." This time, instead of getting a message regarding the OS being outdated, there was a "Cloud with Arrow" icon, and upon clicking it I received the following prompt: I simply attempted the installation via iTunes, which failed ("incompatible OS version"), then tried to install it again from the App Store on my iPad 4. ![]() In my testing, I did not actually need to unplug the iPad mid-install.
